Programme for special children
Anand Mela,a programme for special children was recently organised by the Rotary Club of Pune Cantonment. Over 200 special children from various shools and institutes were invited. These children along with about 50 caretakers spent their morning at Sanskriti cultural garden at Loni. The children danced like never before to the tune of Hindi and Marathi popular hits played by the DJ. The magic show entertained them. The mela,which started with a breakfast ended with an equally delicious lunch and desert. The children went back happy with mehendi on their hands and colorful tattoos on their forearms. Each kid was given a return gift of a coloring book,crayons and cream biscuits by members of the club.
Renovation of transition unit at Sassoon
Rotary Club of Pune Sinhagad Road in collaboration with Rotary Club of Emmaus,USA recently renovated and upgraded the existing transition unit of Sasoon General Hospital. The Transition Unit takes care of neonatal critical babies before getting admitted to neonatal intensive care unit. This transition unit is now well equipped with the advanced equipments including central oxygen supply unit. The Rotary Club has invested approximately Rs thirty lakh in equipments and renovation/up-gradation. On the background of World health day,a handing over ceremony of this project will take place on Thursday,at 12 noon at Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium,B J Medical College.
Finance for medical emergencies
Medical emergencies are a reality. A financing scheme is now being introduced by Shriram City Union Finance Ltd where the patient can get financial approval within 48 hours for loans up to Rs 3 lakh with no collateral security. This scheme is being introduced for the first time in Hardikar Hospital and will be available to all patients of the Hospital with immediate effect.
