Diagnostic lab launched
A state of the art laboratory Raj Diagnostic Lab at Pune Camp with fully computerised equipment for haematology and Biochemistry,hormone studies and biological marker,will be launched on July 9. The laboratory is owned by Prof Rakesh Kakkar,from Pune University. Along with catering to diagnosis of cancer,FNAC and histopathological study will also be done in there.

City doctor at seminar in UAE
City-based Homoeopath Dr. Shailesh Deshpande,participated in the seminar on’ Homoeopathic Management of Cancer Head Pancreas’,organised by the Ministry of Health – United Arab Emirates,at Al-Baraha Hospital,Dubai. Deshpande is the only Indian doctor to present the thesis,two years successively,in the International Homoeopathic Conference,at Barcelona,Spain.

Medical camp
Ranade Homoeopathic Hospital conducted a medical camp for detection and treatment of Asthma and allergies recently at Ranade Homeopathic Hospital recently. Health portal launched
Healthizen.com a portal that allows consumers to help focus on their personal health management has been recently launched as a complete solution for a person’s health records and also gives a consumer access to basic health information. Anand Anupam and Ashish Sharma co-founders of the website have modeled the portal in a manner in which a person can create one’s own health username,store personal health and medical records online that are then used by the portal to create unique health profiles. The portal will also equip the members with a number of risk assessment tools for various diseases like osteoporosis,diabetes,hearing loss,GERD amongst others. Additionally,the portal also features interactive discussion forums; online archives where members can participate in health related discussions and share their experiences,read a large number of articles online covering a wide spectrum of health issues. The portal also allows the members to consult health experts on various issues. Members can set SMS and E-mail alerts for doctor appointments,medicines etc. Various body metabolism related calculations can also be done on the website.

Doctor’s Day
Doctor’s Day was celebrated at Indian Medical Association recently. This year IMA Pune branch felicitated three eminent doctors form Pune,Dr Madhav Kolhatkar,Dr Madhukar Gogate,and Dr Avinash Latkar at the hands of IMA President Dr Dilip Sarda.

Dr Madhav Kolhatkar is a senior most Pathologist form B J Medical Pune,Vaishampayan Medical College Solapur,Grant Medical College Mumbai and Bharati Vidyapeeta Pune. Dr Madhukar Gogate is researcher and professor of Physiology Goa Medical College,Panaji and B J Medical College,Pune and Gulf Countries. Dr Avinash Latkar is a family physician,past president of IMA Pune and IMA Maharashtra State Branch,vice-president of National IMA.
