After her National Award win for her debut film Mala Aai Vhhaychy, advocate Samruoddhi Porey’s next is a biopic on social worker Prakash Amte, who along with his wife Mandakini, works in Lok Biradari Prakalp among the Madia Gonds in Gadchiroli district. The film will trace their lives, including their work for the environment. In the initial days, when the couple started their work, there weren’t any basic amenities available like electricity, education and a dispensary for the adivasis. Despite these challenges, they continued with their project. The Amtes made the adivasis their family and even struck a bond with wild animals like leopards, lions and snakes. Amte’s contribution to society even won him the prestigious Magsaysay Award. The film is expected to go on floors by July and be completed by the end of this year. Porey has been receiving support from various people, including Ashish Chaughule,President of BMM in USA. In fact,a part of the film will be shot in countries abroad.
