General Motors rolls out first vehicle for export from Talegaon Dabhade plant

The first export General Motors vehicle would be shipped to Mexico, a major export market of the company, said president and managing director of GM India Arvind Saxena.

Automobile manufacturer General Motors rolled out its first vehicle for export from its Talegaon Dabhade plant in Pune on Monday. This follows the company’s announcement of ceasing operations at its export unit in Gujarat earlier this year.

The first export vehicle would be shipped to Mexico, a major export market of the company, said president and managing director of GM India Arvind Saxena. He said that the company aims to export 19,000 vehicles this year.

The Talegaon Dabhade plant, Saxena said, would be developed as an export hub. GM would also be launching 10 new models in the next 5 years. Trailblazer, a priemer SUV, would be the first of the launches announced. It will be rolled out around October this year.
