Five wanted in several theft cases arrested

The Swargate police on Saturday arrested five persons alleged to have been involved in several cases of chain snatching and mobile theft.

The Swargate police on Saturday arrested five persons alleged to have been involved in several cases of chain snatching and mobile theft.

In the first incident,Ismail Dastagir Nadaf (19),Feroz Ramzan Shaikh (22) and Vishal Bhimrao Chavan (33) have been arrested by the Swargate police. A gold chain worth Rs 30,000 and a mobile phone have been recovered from Nadaf and Chavan respectively. Police Inspector Rajkumar Gaikwad said that the arrest could help to crack many unsolved cases as all of them have criminal records against them.

In the second incident,acting on a tip-off,the Swargate police also arrested Harshad Ansar Shaikh (20) and Tota alias Tausif alias Siddheshwar Shahji Jadhav (17) —both residents of Indiranagar in Gultekdi —and recovered mobile phones worth Rs 22,000 from them.
