MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) is set to host the National Scientists Round Table Conference (NSRTC) from July 19 to 21. The first-of-its-kind conference in India aims to unite the nation’s leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars, providing a platform for the exchange of pioneering ideas and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The announcement of NSRTC was made recently by distinguished figures in the scientific community, including Padma Vibhushan Dr Raghunath Mashelkar, Padma Bhushan Dr Vijay Bhatkar, MIT-WPU executive president Rahul Vishwanath Karad, MIT-WPU Vice Chancellor Dr R M Chitnis, and NSRTC national convener and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Milind Pande. Karad emphasised the significance of this visionary initiative in advancing scientific research and innovation in India. NSRTC 2024 is set to cover eight themes: Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Materials and Processing, Agri Tech, Biotechnology, Climate Change, Digital Transformation, Health Care, and the fusion of Scientific Temper and Spirituality. The three-day roundtable conference will feature approximately 130 scientists from across India. Among them, nine scientists are Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology winners, while nine scientists are Padma Shri awardees.
