When Marathi cinema is going through a phase of being branded as repetitively comic,Rangiberangi an offbeat film that talks about the finer nuances of human emotions might come across as a whiff of fresh air for lovers of the same.

Speaking more about the film, director Rajendra Bade, says,“The film is titled Rangiberangi (Colourful) for the variety of human natures it exhibits and will be released on September 11. A multi starrer film with all these renowned actors was not planned. While writing the script we chose the actors as they suited the character. It is a myth that the big names of Marathi cinema have moved towards Hindi cinema and would not like to work in Marathi films again. When I approached them for this movie they readily agreed.”

The plot of the film revolves around Ganesh Chowdhary played by actor Aniket Vishwas who leaves his town and moves to the city to fulfill his dreams. The plot of the film then proceeds to the various trials and tribulations in his life and how he tackles it. “While the character is on the verge of achieving all he wants he leaves everything behind and returns to the village without a sense of defeat further empowering his character. The film portrays the struggle between the new and the old generation,” elaborates Bade

“Actors like Madhura Velankar,Kiran Karmarkar,Manoj Joshi and Makarand Deshpande add the myriad colours of human emotions to the films canvas through their strong performances. Upendra Limaye also stars as a guest actor in the film,” says Pawan Vaidya, the executive producer

Adding about her experiences actress Madhura Velankar, says,“Though the cinema is simple and not very experimental it will prove to be entertaining in its own way. People in small towns as well as big cities . will easily relate to it and the film will leave a message for everybody.”

While the movie does boast of a melodious soundtrack,Bade claims none of the songs have been forcibly inserted in the film. “They add to the flow of the film to bring across the tale to be told in the film effortlessly. We hope that audiences can watch the movie and leave the hall with a sense of having rediscovered the human element that had been missing from their lives,” adds Bade.
