E-car catches fire in Katraj, no casualties: Police

An electric car caught fire near Reliance Mart at Katraj junction on Sunday evening. No casualties were reported in the incident.

Fire officer Sanjay Ramteke of Pune Fire Brigade said a man was driving the car with his mother Vidya Ravindra Munot in the passenger seat.

They noticed smoke rising from the engine around 5.45 pm. They immediately stopped the car on the road side, and scrambled out of the vehicle for their safety. Meanwhile, flames began to engulf the car.

Upon being informed about the fire, the Pune Fire Brigade team rushed to the spot and in a few minutes, extinguished the flames, bringing the situation under control.
