The Pune police have found no clues on the murder of two elderly women at their Karvenagar bungalow on Saturday. Apart from the Kothrud police team,six more teams of crime branch are probing the case.
Senior inspector Chandrakant Ghodke of Kothrud police,who is investigating the case,said they were yet to get any leads to the double murder. Unidentified persons had murdered and robbed Smita Prabhakar Patki (52) and her sister-in-law Sulabha Patki-Pachhapurkar (60) at their residence in the plush Shakhabari bungalow,Raghukul Society in Karvenagar,between 12 noon and 12.30 pm. Police suspect robbery could be the motive as gold ornaments were missing from bodies and cupboard.
The police on Sunday recorded the statements of the two domestic helps at the bungalow. One of them had visited the bungalow around 11.45 pm for cooking and she had left after making rotis . The other maid,who came to the bungalow around 12.30 pm to wash utensils,found the women lying in a pool of blood.
The police have also recorded the statements of labourers engaged in construction of a jogging track near the bungalow. Some of them have reportedly said they had heard the cries of the women,but thought it was some family feud.
