Deposing in the German Bakery blast trial,former director and surgeon at Surya Hospital on Saturday told the court that injuries of two of the victims of German Bakery blast were injuries seen only in bomb blast victims.
Dr Jaisingh Krishnarao Shinde (58) told the court of additional sessions judge N P Dhote that two of those injured in the blast,Uplaksha Tiwari and Al Baidhani Fadi,were brought to the hospital on the night of February 13,2010.
Both patients had classic injuries that can occur only in a bomb blast, he said.
But he agreed when defence lawyer A Rehman said the certificate issued in the name of the two victims did not mention the nature and seriousness of the injuries. He also agreed that although the injury certificate was issued as per his instructions,they did not bear his signature.
Tiwari had 14 to 15 per cent burns on the face,hands,neck,legs and was bleeding from the right ear. He also complained of nausea,vomiting and giddiness on moving the head, Shinde said in reply to questions by special public prosecutor Raja Thakare.
He said Fadi had told him that something heavy had fallen on his head. There was a one inch by half inch wound on the forehead with some foreign object inside. He also had wounds on the right side of the neck,right lower limb,left thigh and 40 per cent burns on face,chest back and hands and legs, Shinde told the court. He said both the patients had undergone multiple surgeries and were discharged around 20 days later in the first week of March,2010.
Dr Balkrishna Agarwal (66),surgeon at Amit Hospital in Yerawada,also said two victims,Hiteshi Kumbhoj and Kiran Prakash Jadhav,were brought to his hospital on the day of the blast. While Hiteshi had 32 stitches on various parts of the body,Jadhav was discharged the same day. Jadhav had some bruises and superficial abrasions, he said.
The trial will continue on December 17.
