Kohinoor Pimpri Panthers will meet Automech Chakan Royals in the final of the Pune District Premier League organised by the PDCA after defeating their respective opponents at the Deccan Gymkhana and the Manchar ground on Thursday.
The first semifinal saw Amit Parvati Peshwas take on Kohinoor Pimpri Panthers. The Peshwas batted first and were bundled out for a meager 126 runs in their 20 overs.
Vivek Deshmukh top scored with 61 runs while he was given good support by Sandeep Lele who scored 36 runs. Indrajeet Kamthekar and Amit Tapkir bowled well for the Panthers picking up a couple of wickets each.
In reply,the Panthers achieved their target in just 16.4 overs and with eight wickets to spare.
Prashant Pol led the charge with an unbeaten 52,while Yogesh Takawale gave him good support with a quick fire 38. Kiran Gawhare bowled well for the Peshwas picking up a wicket in his 2 overs. Prashant Pol was declared the man of the match.
In the second semifinal played later in the day,Chakan Royals took on Ambegaon Tigers.
Chakan Royals batted first and put uo a massive total of 162 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Ajay Ranawat did well to score an unbeaten 42 of just 29 balls while Rocky Rajawat gave him good support with 37 runs.
Sanjay Kalaskar of Ambegaon Tigers was the strike bowler picking up three wickets for his 28 runs. Aniruddha Oak gave him good support and picked up a couple of crucial wickets.
In reply the Tigers managed to score just 108 runs before being bowled out. Shrikrishna Pawar top scored with 42 runs while Anuriddha Oak gave him good support with 26 runs.
Prashant Tagade and Raviraj Patil combined well and picked up two wickets each to restrict the opposition.
The final will be held on Friday at 2 pm at Deccan Gymkhana. PDPL is organising for a special cricket tournament for the physically challenged on Friday at the Deccan Gymkhana. The two teams competing are Maharashtra v/s Mumbai. The age group of the players is 18 and above.
The Maharashtra team also includes two international players,namely,Girish Shevate and Daud Pathan. These matches have been played in 21 states for the last 22 years. Ajit Wadekar,former Captain of India is the President of Maharashtra Cricket Association for the disabled.
