After two debacles at the box office,is What’s Your Raashee? a must-win situation for you?
Every movie is a must-win situation for me. Love Story 2050 was my debut and hence there was a lot of pressure to deliver,Victory was tough physically because of all the training I had to go through. And What’s Your Raashee? tested my potential as an actor. I play the character of Yogesh Patel who has to react to various girls and situations.

But are you worried about being written off if this movie fails to make money?
Why are you scaring me? What I believe is,no matter what people write about you, they cannot change your destiny.

Rumours of your break-up with co-star Priyanka Chopra did the rounds during the film’s shoot. Did this create any awkwardness between you two?
On the contrary,we had loads of fun working together and our chemistry on screen has been very good. We have been friends long enough and still are. But what annoys me the most is reading random stories about us in newspapers. I cringe when my mum picks up the paper when there is some untrue story written about me.

With arranged marriages a rarity and social networking sites playing a major role,do you think the movie will strike a chord with the urban audience?
No matter how advanced you get, there is always the need to get married. No matter where you come from, there will come a point in your life when your family will ask you to settle down.

You play a Gujarati boy in the movie. Do you get any typical Gujarati mannerisms to your role?
In the movie,I return to India after being in Chicago for eight years. So there is no typical Gujarati accent or mannerism there. But having studied at Jamnabai Narsee Monjee,I had a lot of Gujarati friends who helped me understand the culture better. I also love Gujarati food; each time undhiyu was served for a take,I would finish it off even before the shot ended.

Before this film, did you believe in zodiac signs?
Till I reached Class 10,I kept doing compatibility quizzes. I’m a Scorpio and I tried finding the most compatible zodiacs.

So this movie did help you fulfill your childhood fantasy?
Having an arranged marriage is no childhood fantasy. But meeting 12 girls definitely is. And when they all look like Priyanka Chopra, what more could you ask for?

You were touted as a brilliant dancer when you started out in the industry. But we haven’t seen you shaking your leg in this one?
I have one dance number in WYR and I have done a lot of B-Boying and Krumping moves. I shot this song without any cuts and retakes.

Do people still tell you that you remind them of Hrithik Roshan?
Not so much any more. And if they do,I tell them it’s not my fault.

You have couple of big banner films coming up.
Anees Bazmee’s It’s My Life with Genelia is next. And Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie will go on floors next March. It’s on hold till then.
