Defence exhibition at R&DE

A defence exhibition,organised by the premier DRDO laboratory Research and Development Establishment (Engineers),as part of its on-going golden jubilee celebrations,was inaugurated by Dr S Sundaresh,CC-R&D (ACE & SI) on Saturday.

Several thousand visitors,including a large number of students,enthusiastically witnessed a display of several indigenous systems such as Sarvatra,Bridge Layer Tank-T72,Counter-mine-Flail-72,Self-propelled Mine-Burier,Inflatable-shelter,’Smart’ Composite Bridge,Remotely-Operated-Vehicle — Daksh,Unmanned-Aerial-Vehicle — Netra and launcher for various missiles such as Prithvi,BrahMos,Akash,Agni,Shaurya etc.

For the first time under one roof,the exhibition included as many as 40 different systems mounted on battletanks and huge trucks.

The exhibition is open to public and students on Sunday also. The visiting hours are from 10 am to 5 pm.

The entry to the exhibition is free,subject to valid photo-identity such as voter’s card,driving-licence,PAN card,College/School identity card.
