Dacoits loot train,arrested

A gang of dacoits allegedly attacked and looted the passengers of the Pune-Patna train on Wednesday night.

A gang of dacoits allegedly attacked and looted the passengers of the Pune-Patna train on Wednesday night. However,swift action from the Pune rural police along with the help of villagers led to the nabbing of the seven dacoits in the early hours of Thursday.

Additional superintendent of police (Pune rural) Ramnath Pokale said the patrolling team of Yevat police station led by inspector BD Kopnar got information about dacoity in the Patna bound train. The train had left Pune station at around 9 pm.

On receiving information,the police along with villagers launched a search operation jointly at night and nabbed the seven suspects.

The booty recovered from suspects include cash money,cell phones and gold ornaments worth Rs 43,221.

The suspects have been identified as suspects Pravin Jondhawale (20),Sanjay Kale (22),Pravin Polke (23),Nilesh Kadam (20),Amol Dhawale (27),Salman Anwar Khan (20) and Ashok Sonwane (26),all residents of Daund.

The offence has been registered with the Railway police in this case.

Eight passengers were however injured in the incident.
