Cyber security expert among two killed in accident on Pune-Mumbai expressway
Dedhia's family member Ritesh Lakshmichand Mamaniya (41) of Borivali, lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case

A cyber security expert Sachin Mahendra Dedhia (46), who was on his way to Pune in a private car, died in a road accident at Shirgaon on the Pune – Mumbai expressway, on Friday morning. Police said the driver, Parmeshwar Shivling Vhandrav (57), who hails from Dharashiv, also died in the accident.
Dedhia’s family member Ritesh Lakshmichand Mamaniya (41) of Borivali, lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at the Shirgaon police station of the Pimpri Chinchwad police.
Police said Dedhia was coming from Mumbai to Pune by a private car to deliver a lecture on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to a batch of chartered accountants on Saturday morning. But around 8.30 am, the car rammed into a container truck stalled on the side of the road at Shirgaon along the Pune-Mumbai expressway. The impact was so severe that both the car driver and Dedhia died in the incident.
Police sub inspector Ashok Kendre, the investigating officer, said that the container truck’s driver Pravinkuma Pandya (39) of Rajasthan, was arrested on charges of negligence. Police have booked Pandya under sections 106 (1), 324 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections of the Motor Vehicle Act.
Police said Pandya had stalled the container along the Pune – Mumbai Expressway illegally and in a dangerous position, without taking essential precautions. As a result, the car which Dedhia was travelling in collided into the rear of the container truck.
Dedhia was known to be an expert in cyber security and digital forensics. He was also a certified ethical hacker. A native of Kachchh in Gujarat, he had been residing in Borivali, Mumbai with his family, police said.
