Cop suspended for not filing complaint

Constable Yuvraj Bhange,attached to Bhosari police station,was suspended for negligence in registering a complaint in the kidnapping and murder case of 16-year-old school student Shubham Shirke las month.

Constable Yuvraj Bhange,attached to Bhosari police station,was suspended for negligence in registering a complaint in the kidnapping and murder case of 16-year-old school student Shubham Shirke las month.

Shubham was kidnapped by his friends on March 30 and was later killed. His body was found in a secluded place after police nabbed the suspects. The friends had contacted Shubhams father for ransom on the same night.

Shubhams family friend Ravindra Chavan had then approached Bhosari police for registering a complaint. Bhange,who was on duty,refused to register a complaint and asked him to go to Vishrantwadi police station.

Shubhams parents had complained of negligence on polices part and had demanded action. ACP (administration) Anand Shinde suspended Bhange following an inquiry. He has been suspended with effect from April 19,a press release from Pune police said.
