Cooch Behar trophy: state draws with DDCA

Maharashtra drew their match between DDCA in the U 19 Cooch Behar Elite C trophy at the Stephens Ground,Delhi.

Maharashtra drew their match between DDCA in the U 19 Cooch Behar Elite C trophy at the Stephens Ground,Delhi.

DDCA won the toss and elected to bat first. In the first innings,they scored a huge total of 540 runs before being bowled out in 158 overs. Opener Mohit Sharma top scored with a splendid 210 runs of 307 balls which included 32 hits to the fence.

Nitish Rana supported him well with 101 runs of 224 balls which included eight hits to the fence. Samarth Singh and Gaurav Kochhar contributed half centuries. For Maharashtra,Akshay Waikar was the pick of the bowlers scalping five wickets for 109 runs in 28 overs.

Chirag Khurana supported him well with four wickets of his own. In reply,Maharashtra managed to score just 231 runs before being bowled out in 77.2 overs.

Chirag Khurana top scored with 70 runs while Prayag Bhati supported him well with 60 runs of his own.

For Delhi,Nitin Yadav was the strike bowler picking up five wickets for 55 runs in 19.2 overs. Shivam Sharma supported him well with four wickets of his own.

Forced to follow on,Maharashtra came back strongly to rescue the game after scoring 503 runs for seven wickets in 117 overs.

Prayag Bhati top scored with 271 runs of just 180 balls which included 40 boundaries and nine sixes.

Naushad Shaikh supported him well with 89 runs of his own. Abhijit Salvi and Chirag Khurana contributed with half centuries.
