Congress corporators in the PMC have expressed their reservations on the draft of the development plan (DP) that was tabled in the general body meeting by the ruling NCP.
A meeting of the Congress corporators was held where they expressed their reservation on accepting the decisions of the NCP on DP.
The party corporators opine that they will not accept the demands of NCP without having any discussion on it. We want to discuss the proposal in detail and then take our stand, said Arvind Shinde,a Congress leader in PMC.
The corporators want time and we will have to take sufficient time for its discussion, Shinde said.
The NCP on its part also organised a meeting of all its corporators to discuss its stand on draft DP. The corporators were asked to convey their personal opinion on the draft DP and get queries clarified from party leaders.
We want to get the DP approved as soon as possible. Thus, the meeting to address the queries of corporators was conducted today wherein the city improvement committee chairperson and other senior party leaders involved in the preparation of DP gave their clarification, said Subhash Jagtap,NCP leader in PMC.
There was no reason to delay the approval of DP as there have been sufficient discussion in the committee,he said adding they were yet to decide on a strategy to raise the numbers to get it approved in general body meeting.
On the allegations being levelled by the Opposition that it was favouring the developers,Jagtap said the allegations made by the opposition party leaders are false.
They want to create unnecessary issue on DP, he alleged. Jagtap added that the DP maps are not made public, but are available for corporators to study them in detail.
