Combat demonstration at CME

The College of Military Engineering organized a ‘Combat Engineer Demonstration’ onWednesday.

The College of Military Engineering (CME) organized a ‘Combat Engineer Demonstration’ onWednesday. Around 600 personnel comprising officers of the Army,Navy and Air Force undergoing Defence Services Staff Course (DSSC) at Wellington,Technical Staff,Officers Course (TSOC) at Institute of Armament Technology (IAT),Pune,cadets of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Cadets Training Wing (CTW),CME,Pune and many school children attended the show.

The demonstration was undertaken with the twin intention of imparting training to defence personnel and to inspire the youth towards a career in the Armed Forces. The combat capabilities of the Corps of Engineers were demonstrated both in the static and dynamic displays.

As part of the display,multiple tasks were showcased to demonstrate various combat engineering tasks such as mining and demining tactics,launch of assault bridges on land and water,track laying,demolitions,use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and Counter IED drills,said a press release from the CME.
