Cultural canvas
The last day of this 3-day carnival CHASM 2010 by Bharati Vidyapeeth was a day of cultural hungama at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium. The intercollegiate dance competition Kaleidoscope and an intercollegiate fashion show competition Manifestation was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. Students from different colleges from in and around Pune actively participated in these competitions presenting dances on various themes like patriotism,deforestation,love and fashion show on seasons,mismatch wear and so on. There was an intra college competition for the positions of Mr and Ms IMED. The guest for the prize distribution ceremony was performer Shefali Lahoti.
Projecting ideas
The AISSMS College of Engineering is conducting Engineering Today (ET),a national level students symposium and exposition on March 17 and 18. About 1500 Engineering colleges all over India and SAARC countries have been invited. The objective of this event is to update,create interest and ignite young minds about the recent developments in engineering and technology. The students will exhibit their talents by participating in various competitions like paper presentation,project exhibition,robotics competition,quiz,design competition and so on. The participating students will be given certificates and awards. During the event,the students get opportunity to get a glimpse of research activities,to know about technical details of the research and other recent developments. 42 Industries and professional bodies have supported the event this year.
Fun and frolic
Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT),hosted a three-day cultural festival,Reverb 2010,recently where Harsha Bhogle, cricket commentator and analyst,inaugurated the festival at Symbiosis Knowledge Village. Various events like Mock Stock,Eco- Solutions and Treasure Hunt then rolled on indoors whereas out in the open arena box cricket and football saw some gruesome competition. The day concluded with a breathtaking fashion show,an amazing mix of music and art. On one of the evenings DJ Vaggy set the crowd grooving to his beats whereas Silver,the band,rocked the night. The festival saw various celebrity events and intercollegiate competitions including dance and drama,quiz and cricket being held.
