Fundamental rights case
The centre for public law at ILS Law College has organised an event on the January 16 in honour of Nani A Palkhivala,to reargue the Kesavananda Bharati case also known as the fundamental rights case. This is a landmark judgment,which laid down the Basic Structure Doctrine of the Indian Constitution,and today forms an integral part of the study and practice of constitutional law in India. Anil B Divan and T R Andhyarujina,Senior Advocates,who appeared in the case from petitioners and respondents respectively,will re-argue the landmark case.
Green drive
The Express Youth Forum’s primary objective to ensure a Clean and Green Pune was seen once again as they organised an awareness drive at NIBM Road on Sunday,December 27,in collaboration with the NIBM Road Citizens Forum. 40 people participated in the drive,to propagate the usage of bicycles and paper bags to curb pollution. Tanaji Lonkar flagged off a cycle rally,which was a part of the entourage. Nat Geo junior hunt
The third Nat Geo Junior Hunt were held on the December 24. Nayanika Roy,of class 6 from City International and Rohan Jhunja,of class 8 from The Bishops School emerged as the winners. They will now represent their respective cities at an adventure camp and only four out of these twenty city finalists will make it to the national finals. The final four will receive further scholarships from Aviva Life Insurance and only one winner will get to host the Nat Geo Junior show for 3-months on the National Geographic Channel,along with a bouquet of prizes from other partners associated with the hunt.
