Hotel management scholarship
Ealing,Hammersmith and West London College will be conducting scholarship exam and interviews for admissions into the Hotel Management,Chef and Patisserie program for September 2010 and January 2011 intakes. The college has four campuses in the heart of London and the courses offer earn and learn scheme. The interviews will be held on June 1 between 10 am and 5 pm. The selected students are eligible for tuition fee waiver ranging between 25 and 50 per cent. All Hotel Management graduates,diploma holders and final year students are eligible to apply and diploma holders are eligible for direct entry into postgraduate program. Prior registration is compulsory. The venue for the exam is GeeBee Education,opposite Deccan Gymkhana clubhouse,off Bhandarkar Road.
BBA,MBA admissions
The Indian Institute of Financial Management (IIFM),has opened admissions for its BBA and MBA programs. The sessions will commence in the first week of July and specialisations in Marketing,Finance,HR and IT will be offered along with international accreditations,including a UGC accredited degree from India. The BBA program is a three-year full time course while MBA (PGPM) is a post-graduate program in management with internationally accredited certifications from the American Academy of Financial Management,Los Angeles,USA.
Lila Poonawalla Foundation awarded
Lila Poonawalla Foundation was nominated as the winner of the WIL India Award in the category Women Initiative Of The Year,for its outstanding efforts in creating benefits for the girls education and encouraging them to learn and engage in development activities. One of the senior trustees Vasantha Ramaswamy accepted this award on behalf of the foundation at the hands of Susan Scott-Ker,senior vice president,Marketing and Communications,Accenture India. Short listed nominees were judged by a panel of notable women including Avivah Wittenberg-Cox,founder,20-first.com (UK) and author of Why women mean business,Kiran Bedi,India’s first and highest ranking woman in the Indian Police Service; Pallavi Joshi Bakhru,partner,Tax and Regulatory Services.
World Telecom Day at MIT
MIT College organised a programme on the occasion of World Telecom Day on May 17. The programme began with a prayer for world peace. The keynote address by Shrirang Bapat,vice president,Amdocs followed soon after. The chief guest for the occasion was Anshu Gaur,country head,Amdocs and Yes Bank. The main part of the programme was the panel discussion on- Use of ICTs for better cities,better lives. Eminent personalities like R Venkateswaran,vice president,Head Telecom BU,Persistent Systems Ltd,Alok Maheshwari,delivery manager,Communication Media and Entertainment Unit,Infosys,Arun Menon,AVP,Tech Mahindra and Ashutosh Singh,deputy manager Sales,Sterlite Technologies were a part of this discussion.
