Amway Opportunity Foundation is celebrating Helen Keller Day with visually challenged children of Poona School and Home for Blind Trust. Tellywood singer Sandeep Ubale will be present on the occasion to sing with the children. The event will be held today at Poona School and Home for Blind Trust,North Avenue,Koregoan Park,3:30 pm onwards.
Learning curve
Innovative ways of learning always make a deep impression. And when it comes to leadership,it’s all about striking the correct cord and then moving ahead. A programme highlighting leadership skills will be conducted this Saturday,July 3,at Seasons Hotel,Aundh by Commander Girish V Konkar (retd). Girish is the CEO of Beyond Horizons,a leading institute for leadership development and organisational excellence and has conducted more than 200 programmes during the last four years. The learning process will range from powerful outbound simulations, to class/conference room based simulations using powerful techniques like Experiential Learning,Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP),Emotional Intelligence (EI) and so on.
Plant a future
Pune is nestled in a basin of hills and greenery,but growing pressure on the environment is negatively impacting the city’s contours.Therefore,it’s time now to initiate citizens to join in and make genuine efforts to save the environment. Reflecting one such effort,Youth to Youth,conducted a Hill top & Hill slope Greening Project at the Chaturshrungi Hill on June 27. The group planted around 1200 saplings while the pre-plantation work had already started from mid May. The project,also called Continuous Contour Trenching (CCT),helps arrest soil erosion and bolsters water retention,green cover,bio-diversity and air-quality. The entire project was carried out under the guidance of experts.
