The citys minimum temperature dipped to 10.7 degrees on Friday,the lowest for this month. Met department officials said western disturbance has brought cold waves in north central parts of the state,thus lowering the temperature. Met department said the minimum temperature for the city on Thursday was 11.9 degrees.

State plans to plant 1 million trees

After facing criticism for scanty green cover across the state and not utilising the Centres fund for the purpose,the state government is aiming to plant 1 million trees in the coming year.
