Auto-rickshaw driver held for ‘molesting’ 6-year-old girl

A six-year-old old girl was allegedly molested a 46-year-old auto-rickshaw driver in Walhekarwadi area of Chinchwad on Saturday afternoon. Based on a complaint lodged by the mother of the victim,Chinchwad police arrested the rickshaw driver,Khandu Kamble,the same day. Assistant Police Inspector S R Surve,who is investigating the case,said: “The girl was playing outside the house when Kamble called her. He took her into his rickshaw and molested her. We arrested him after the mother approached us with the complaint.” Kamble has been booked under relevant Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Indian Penal Code.
