City police defeat Goodwill 5-1

Pune City Police,BEG and 18 th Sikh Regiment registered wins in the Barclays Hockey League Championship organised by the Maharashtra Hockey Association (Ikram Khan Faction) at the Polygrass stadium,Pimpri on Sunday.

In the first match of the day,Pune City Police defeated Goodwill 5-1. The policemen had a good start to the game with Datta Shinde scoring the opening goal in the second minute of the game. Shinde received a good pass from Sachin Karle and he did not miss. They managed to double their lead three minutes later,with Kamlakar Gaikwad scoring off a pass from Prakash Sapkal. Pune City Police were dominating at this stage and Goodwill had no answer to their onslaught. The 24th minute saw Omesh Hulge scoring the third goal of the game after he received a good pass from Harish Sapkal. The 34th minute saw a penalty conversion from Sachin Karle and the policemen were cruising at this stage. In the 42nd minute,Prakash Sapkal finished the opposition off when he scored a goal that was set up by Sachin Karle. Goodwill got a consolation goal just before full time through Amol Jadhav. The final score read 5-1.
