City players shine at DES-Fergusson Cup tennis

City-based assistant coaches Santosh Kurhade,Sandeep Pujari,Manoj Kusalkar would be proud of their wards Milan Seth,Kesav Kishan and Nishank Prasad,who qualified for the main draw of the DES-Fergusson Cup – Men’s All India Ranking Tennis Tournament organised by the Deccan Education Society played at the Fergusson College Tennis courts.

In the final qualifying round matches played today Santosh Kurhade defeated Milan Seth in a tiebreaker 7-6(5),6-2. Sandeep Pujari and Manoj Kusalkar put out Keshav Kishan and Nishank Prasad respectively to enter in the main draw.

In the other matches player from Pune,Vishal Jadhav,Alok Bhide,Sangram Chapekar,Rohit Shinde and Suyash Sharma also made it for main draw. The tourney will be inaugurated by Kiran Shaligram (Chairman LMC-Fergusson College,Pune) on the march 1 at 9 am.

Results:Boys (Singles),final qualifying round: Santosh Kurhade beat Milin Seth 7-6(5),6-2; Sandeep Pujari beat Keshav Kishan 6-0,6-3; Manoj Kusalkar beat Nishank Prasad 6-0,6-2; Suyash Sharma beat Rohit Saravte 6-1,4-6,6-4; Vishal Jadhav beat Gopal Jadhav 6-3,6-3; Alok Bhide beat Abhishek Singh 60,6-1; Rohit Shinde beat Shrvhil Navgere 6-4,6-3; Sangram Chaphekar beat Prathmesh Lonkar 6-1,6-1.
