A Marathi play titled Uney Purey Shahar Ek, adapted from Girish Karnad’s original Benda Kaalu On Toast (Baked Beans on Toast),delves into the nuances of Pune,an urban landscape fast growing metropolitan,and its history. It focuses on the struggles,plans,ambitions and frustrations of the people living in the city. The play will be staged at Bhimsen Joshi Kalamandir on August 11 at 12.30 pm,and at Bal Gandharva Rangmandir on August 13 at 5.50 pm.

Sway to the rhythm of the dhol at Dhol Tashe on August 3,an event organised by the Mandai Ganpati Trust in 61,Shukrawar Peth,near Mandai Ganapati. Dhol pathaks from Mumbai,Vashi and Sangamneer will participate in the event wherein each participant will be given 20 minutes. The best three dhol-tasha players will be awarded. Celebrities from the Marathi television industry such as Saksham Kulkarni,Hruta Durgule,Ketaki Chitale and Harshad Atkari,will be present.
Bake a cake
Phoenix Club Junior is organising Bake-a-cake workshop on Saturday,starting from 4 pm at Pheonix Market City,Nagar Road. The three-hour activity is aimed at teaching children the basics of baking and engaging them in making cupcakes. Participants will get a hands-on opportunity to bake two cakes of different flavours. Children need to register at the venue before they enroll for the workshop.
