QMTI Foundation Day function today
The 94th Foundation Day of Queen Marys Technical Institute (QMTI) for disabled soldiers will be celebrated on Monday 6 pm at Kargil Memorial Hall of QMTI,Khadki. The institute was founded on May 16,1917 by Marie Willingdon,wife of the then Governor of Bombay Province in Mumbai. It was shifted to Khadki in 1923.
14 held for threatening witness in murder case
The Pune Police Crime Branch arrested 14 persons on Friday for allegedly threatening witnesses in a case. On a tip-off,a team led by inspector Dattatray Temghare arrested them near Gate No 4 of Shivajinagar court. Police said they had gone there to threaten a witness to change the statement in a 2007 murder case. The suspects were identified as Sanjay Warbhuvan,Aakash Shinde,Ajay Khude,Tushar Kamble,Moreshwar Dodake,Milind Kadam,Ravindra Kanade,Sameer Bade,Mayur Matre,Mohan Jadhav,Vinod Bansode,Bala Oswal,Ajay Sinde and Sagar Papal. A case has been registered and PSI BS Karape is investigating further.
