Severe cold wave conditions in northern parts of India are expected to bring down the temperature in the city in the next two days. The minimum temperature on Thursday was 10.3°C,three degrees down from Wednesday. Director (weather forecasting),IMD,Medha Khole said cold wave conditions had been prevailing in parts of the state too. “Jalgaon recorded the lowest temperature of 5.8°C on Thursday while it was below normal by 6-7 degrees in Vidarbha. Minimum temperature in city is expected to fall by 2 degrees on Friday.”

Driver killed,four hurt in accident

A driver was killed and four others injured when an Indigo car turned turtle and went off the road near Aundhe bridge on Pune-Mumbai Expressway around 11 am on Thursday. The deceased is Shamadul Haq Idris (55) while the condition of injured — Sunaina Lad,Sharad Dashrath,Salama Ansur and Sana Ansur — admitted to a Nigdi hospital is stable. Lonavala rural police SHO said,“The car was at such a high speed that it turned turtle twice before going off the road. The driver could be taken out only after a crane was brought.”

Stone laid for shooting range in Hadapsar

Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a shooting range in Hadapsar,to be developed by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The shooting range would be developed in three months.
