‘State-appointed officials to audit civic accounts’

Activists claimed civic audits would be carried out by auditors appointed by the state. “The government has amended BPMC Act and issued a GR to the effect last month. We are in possession of the GR copy making it mandatory for civic officials to conduct the audit,” said Vijay Kumbhar,president of the Surajya Sangharsh Samiti. PMC chief auditor Ambarish Galinde,however,said they have not been intimated by the government yet.
