Advocate Ujwala Pawar has been appointed government pleader of the district and sessions court in Pune. Pawar is the first woman to get the post and took charge on Friday. She belongs to Pune and has been practising law since 1987. She has worked as assistant public prosecutor and additional government pleader. She has fought several civil and criminal cases including the Dr Deepak Mahajan murder case and Chandrakant Khaire murder case in Shivajinagar. She had also worked as special government pleader at sessions court outside Pune district.
