Education system should change
The education system youngsters have to contend with is a cause for concern. They go from being part of a group that is often not more than 15 to a class with 30-60 students,from personal attention to being just another head in the class. In school,children are introduced to several languages and computers are not used as a tool of education but as a subject in itself. They are exposed to many difficult topics at a young age. However,as they progress,lessons are not explained but merely read. Answers to questions after the class are not discussed but marked or copied from the board. Another big challenge is the curriculum itself and its relevance. We celebrate Teachers Day. It is difficult to be a teacher. It is even more difficult to be an outstanding teacher. What dreams do we have for each of the children in our classrooms? What are we willing to give to make the dreams reality? Let us become teachers of life,because that is what really matters.

Signboard needed at Aga Khan Palace
When I passed by Aga Khan Palace at night recently,I was upset to find that there was no lit-up signboard to indicate that I was passing by a majestic and historical place. The museum not being open in the evening hours is no reason for it to be ignored this way.
