Scrambling for survival
Yet another desi-fied version of an American show comes to India with Survivor India on Star Plus. The show,in a one-of-a-kind scramble, will be a mix of Sarkaar Ki Duniya and Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao. And if thats not a turn off enough, they are going to throw their 20 contestants on an uninhabited island and will make them find their own food and shelter. Now,thats just Bigg Boss in the wild.
Career girl
Like Miley Cyrus,Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato before her, starlet Debby Ryan, who plays Bailey Pickett on the The Suite Life on Deck, has the star machine of Disney behind her as she gets set for her new show. The 17-year-old will play a teen from rural Texas who moves to New York and becomes an au pair to a wealthy family with four children in the new series,Jessie. So far she seems focused on her career, but we sure hope Debby learns from her predecessor Miley and avoids having a celebrity meltdown.
Small wonder
There’s good news for Beliebers teen sensation Justin Bieber is going to appear on Big CBS Prime, all through the month of March. The moptopped crooner is going to promote his new film Never Say Never and is going to appear on the The Late Show with David Letterman, among others. This should be a good chance for his fans to switch from Pogo and Nickelodeon for once.
Wet smack
It was that time of year again, when all shows celebrated Holi. On SAB TV,light-hearted comedies like Papad Pol,Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,Mrs Tendulkar,Lapataganj and Ring Wrong Riing spread the spirit of Holi. How many times can we watch shows that get laughs out of badly-aimed water balloons?
