Fashion fundas

INIFD’s annual fashion show was held on October 5 at the Poona Club Amphitheatre. This year the event was held with a social cause kept in mind. Garments and accessories were designed by the students based on social topics like dowry, superstition, addiction and deforestation. The designers showcased their collection based on dowry in bold bridal shades of red, pink and green with digital printed borders portraying the life that a girl desires for as a bride but eventually ends up as a victim. The deforestation, for example, was shown by the dense colors of green and earthy shades and dull brown and gray depicting the dead state and ashes. The addiction to computer devices, gadgets and gaming was shown by using metallic shades and bold colours found in and around the gadgets. “The fashion show was a huge success and the credit should go to the mentor and the internal jury,Amrita Saluja,”said Amit Agrawal, director of the institute.
