Whether it is the attack on the serpent,or dislodging Lord Indra from Airavat, kids this summer will watch their prank star in all his moods. Venturing into local animation content for the first time,Nick, the kid’s entertainment channel is launching the aniamated series Little Krishna.

Developed by Big Animation, the 13-episode-series boasts of an innovative content gathered through intense research and will be aired from Monday, five days a week.

The series have been put together at the Big Animation studios in the city along with The Indian Heritage Foundation by ISKCON,Bangalore. “We researched and found out that Krishna is known to people other than those who are of Indian origin. We have not only invested total creativity but also technology that is globally identical. We hunted for two years to find something that was made locally and with excellence. The script was further passed on to Jeffrey Scott, the five-time Emmy Award winner. We were in search of a channel which could make a mark and Nick is currently the leading channel for kids. There are around 300 characters and more than 300 locations in the series,” adds Ashish S K,CEO,Big Animation.

Elaborating on the effort,Nina Elavia Jaipuria, senior vice-president and general manager says,“This has a compelling story,an enduring character, technology and quality. We have been earlier carrying library shows or acquired episodes – the wait is finally over with these outstanding series.”

Interestingly, three devotees of ISKCON,Bangalore also researched for five years to authenticate the story. Citing some references,Chanchalapathi Dasa,vice-chairman of the Indian Heritage Foundation says,“We went through Srimad Bhagvat Purana,Garga Samhita and Harivansha,in addition to a lot of other literature. We also traveled to Brijamandal; it was Krishna’s birthplace and he’s known to have spent many years there.” The series will air with Hindi as well as English feeds.
