Car turns turtle,driver escapes unhurt

A Honda City car turned turtle and hit a roadside rock after a tyre burst on Katraj-Dehuroad bypass on NH4 near Sutarwadi around 4.15 am on Saturday. The car was badly damaged while driver Vikas Kumar had a miraculous escape.

“I did not have a single injury. As it was very early in the morning,I called up some of my friends who took me home. I went to office as usual after that,” Kumar said.

Cops from Pashan chowky rushed to the spot after being informed by a passerby around 7.30 am.

Constable Devrukhkar at the chowky said the driver had told them that he had fastened his seatbelts. “That and air balloons that came out might have saved him.

4 arrested for petrol pump heists

The anti-organised crime cell of Pune police have arrested four persons for various crimes,including petrol pump heists.

Police said the arrested — Tilaksingh Gabbarsingh Tak (19),Sunil Prakash Gaikwad alias Robert (19),Dayalsingh Dudhani and Lakhansingh Dudhani — have confessed to have looted two petrol pumps in Shirur.

They had also disclosed that they had stolen a Tavera car for the third robbery and one of their gang members,Giddu Shitalsingh Dudhani alias Japansingh,was killed in an exchange of fire with a security guard during that heist,police said.
