Gopalan,a senior HR professional working in an Italian multinational company as Asia Pacific Human Resource Director and recognised as a Thought Leader, has done his research in Conflict Management and Inter-group Behaviour. He did it under the guidance of Dr (Capt) C M Chitale, professor and head of the department of management studies at Pune University. This research has adopted a dual approach — emperical and case studies. The research highlights that conflicts need to be kept issue-based and, instead of negotiations, collaborative style will present win-win solutions. This calls for perseverance, transparency and involvement of all concerned,at the same time acknowledging and accepting differences of opinions. The findings and recommendations of this research are relevant to the industry, which faces conflicts as an inherent part of business.
