Police also said they have got clues about the thieves and investigation is underway. (Express File Photo)Four persons intercepted a cab on its way to drop a passenger and robbed the driver on the Jangli Maharaj (JM) Road in Shivajinagar in the early hours of Friday.
The cab driver Ravindra Mane (44) lodged the FIR in this case at Shivajinagar police station.
Police said Mane, who lives in Lohegaon, was dropping off an engineer from an IT company in Pune, four men intercepted the cab near a building on the JM road in Shivajinagar. around 3.30 am.
The four men thrashed Mane, took his gold chain worth Rs 20,000, a cell phone of Rs 8,000 and Rs 2000, which they forced him to withdraw online, police said.
After the thieves left, Mane approached the police and filed a complaint of robbery. Police have booked the accused persons under sections 394, 341, 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said the techie sitting in Mane’s car was not hurt by the miscreants. Police also said they have got clues about the thieves and investigation is underway.
