Pune headquartered Byond Tech Electronics,which is in the business of affordable mobile handsets,on Thursday announced entry into the tablet and smart-phone business.
The company,which has its own manufacturing base in Shenzhen,China,introduced the widest range of Tablet PC for the Indian market mibook series which is in tune with the growing Tablet market in the country. The mibook series comes with seven varieties of tablet PCs with some innovative features like seven inch screen,calling facility. The company also launched the Laplet which come with portable attached key pad.
Some of the key features of the Tablets are Android operating system,3D video and gaming,kinetic scrolling touch pad and some unique key pad attachments. The Tablets come in the price range of Rs 4,250 to 10,000. Company said the tablets and smartphones will be available in the distributorships across country and will be available at 250 outlets.
The company also announced the launch of it first smart phone B50 stating that it intends to be a major player in the segment and plans to launch a range of android phones starting from 3.5 screen size to 5 screen size from the Byond stable.
The company is targeting sales of more than 5 lakh tablets a year and a market share of close to 15 per cent to emerge as a leading player in the market, said Prashant P Bora,founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Byond Tech. He said the factory has a capacity to make 4 lakh mobile handsets and 1 lakh tablets every month.
