Tata Motors raises Rs 56 lakh for drought-hit villages

TATA Motors and its associate companies have raised funds to help the drought-affected villages in the state. The funds are being collected through TATA Institute of Social Sciences. Around 9,783 donors from TATA Motors,TAL Ltd.,TATA Technology Ltd.,TATA Motors Grihini Social Welfare Society,TATA Motors Ltd. – Pune Canteen Society,Employees Co-operative Credit Society helped in raising Rs 56.42 lakh. This includes a sum of Rs 25,000 contribution of Shive Village Panchayat from Rajgurunagar area,stated a release. As many as 33 villages from Tuljapur have been provided various types of help through TATA Institute of Social Sciences. Water is supplied through tankers to these villages. The fund raised by TATA Motors and its associate companies will be utilised in 10 villages. Special emphasis is being given to well digging and water storage in these 10 villages. In addition to this water tanks will also be provided in these villages,officials said. Anil Sinha – TATA Motors Plant Head,V Suresh – Head HR – CVBU,Prof Dr Pepin – Dean TATA Institute,Tuljapur,Baban Chavan – General Secretary – TATA Motors Employees Union, Subhash Hulavale – Working President, Shrirang Dhavale – Social Development Dept,Rohit Saroj and Mayuresh Kulkarni visited these villages recently.

The plant has been designed to meet growing demand for Tetra Pak processing and packaging solutions across India,South and Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The Rs 700 crore facility marks a significant milestone in Tetra Pak’s increasing presence in the Indian subcontinent.

Tata Housing signs MoU with NSC

Tata Housing has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Safety Council of India (NSC) to create awareness and promote the cause of Environment,Health & Safety (EHS) in the Indian real estate industry. The agreement represents Tata Housing’s persistent efforts to make EHS rules and regulations a priority for the real estate industry. The MOU was signed between Brotin Banerjee,MD & CEO Tata Housing,and V B Sant,Director General,NSC. The key objective of the MoU is to streamline technical expertise between two organisations and to collaboratively work towards making EHS a norm for the industry.

CybageAsha to provide water to 10 villages

In view of the prevailing drought condition in the state,CybageAsha,the CSR wing of Cybage,will provide water through tankers to 10 villages on Pune Nagar Road. CybageAsha has also taken up the job of building a water reservoir at a village,which would provide long-term solution to meet the water damands of the villagers.

NC Jha first Sandvik chair professor

Former chairman of Coal India Limited,NC Jha has been appointed as the first Sandvik chair professor at the Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad. He would be involved broadly in the various industry-institute interactions and R&D activities apart from regular teaching and routine academic task.
