Shriram Group opens new branch
Shriram Group opened a new branch at Blue Hills Society,Nagar Road on Sunday. The office was inaugurated by G M Jilani,CEO,Shriram Chits (Maharashtra) in presence of R Sridhar,VP and Shahid Afaq,DGM. Amit Mahurkar,senior regional manager of the company,briefed the media about the new branch. The 40th branch,Shriram City Union Finance Limited,will offer money to people for multiple purposes.
Beru sets up plant in Talegaon
Beru Diesel Start Systems Pvt Ltd,a joint venture between Jayant Group and Beru Germany,has set up a new manufacturing plant in Talegaon. This facility was inaugurated by Dr Thomas Waldhier,president,BorgWarner Beru Systems last week. This facility will manufacture cold starting systems like glow plugs,grid heaters,glow plug controllers,electronic parts and allied system components and use it as a base to bring in advanced product range in ignition technologies,automotive electronics and sensor technologies. The company has invested Rs 300 million in this plant,which is spread over an area of over 80000 sq ft in Talegaon MIDC.
Kirloskar,Daihatsu sign agreement
Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd (KOEL) has entered into an agreement with Daihatsu Diesel Mfg Co Ltd,Japan for manufacturing and supplying diesel engines of Daihatsu design in India. The engines manufactured by KOEL under this agreement,will be in the range of 440KW to 2560 KW and will cater to the requirement of propulsion and auxiliary power (DG Sets) for commercial ships. Atul Kirloskar,chairman and managing director,KOEL and Yoshiro Furukawa,chairman of Daihatsu Diesel Mfg Co Ltd,Japan signed this agreement in Japan. This agreement will synergise the strengths of both the organisations and render significant advantages to the ship owners and ship builders in India said a press release issued by the company.
VMH opens facility in Chandannagar
Voltas Material Handling Pvt Ltd. ( VMH ),a joint venture company of India’s Voltas Limited and Germany’s KION Group,has set up a new plant in Chandannagar. The plant was inaugurated by Daniel Signorini,director,VMH and senior advisor to KION Group and Milind Shahane,VMH director and EVP with Voltas Ltd. Sanjay Johri,MD Voltas Ltd was the guest of honour. The new facility is spread over an area of 90000 square feet and will initially manufacture diesel and electric forklift trucks. A total of about Rs 12 crore have been invested in the machinery and the plant set up. Speaking on the occasion,Signorini said that India has a huge potential and the company has ambitious plans to gain top position in two- three years. The growth will come through increase in production capacities and enlargement of product portfolio. “Last year the entity produced 1700 units of forklifts from its Thane plant . The new plant in Pune will have the same production capacities by the end of this year,effectively doubling the capacities.” Signorini said.
Weikfield introduces mushroom variety
Weikfield Foods Pvt Ltd,growers of the eco valley brand of fresh white button mushrooms,have recently added another exotic variety of mushrooms – the Fresh Portabella Mushrooms,which is being introduced for the first time in India. The company claims that the mushrooms are low in fat,cholesterol free,high in fibre and are a good source for various essential minerals. Freshly harvested Portabella Mushroom caps are two to five inches in diameter,are light tan in colour and have an open veil with visible gills on the underside.
