2,50,000 service centres by 2012
As part of the implementation of e-governance programme,the Government of India will set up 250,000 common service centres by 2012,which will give a fillip to inclusive growth plans,said Shankar Aggarwal,Additional Secretary,Ministry of Communications,Government of India. Aggarwal was speaking at the Indiasoft 2011 organised by Electronics and Computer Software Export promotion Council (ESC) in the city recently. He said the common facility centres,will be a single window for the citizens to access critical information relating to healthcare,agriculture advise,education,infrastructure related information and tax matters. Tanmoy Charabarty,vice-president,TCS,spoke about TCS’s effort for digitisation of passport offices. Shortly,there would be 77 ultra modern passport offices in the country,which can in less than 72 working hours can issue a new passport . Citizens can seek information on the status of the issuance of pass port and their queries will be addressed in 45 minutes.
Rexel enters pact with Yantra Automation
REXEL,which is into the distribution of electrical supplies,has announced a partnership with Pune-based Yantra Automation. Following the transaction,Rexel will own 74 per cent and Yantra 26 per cent of the joint venture. This partnership is part of Rexel’s external growth strategy,of expanding its presence in fast growing economies. Hubert Salmon,senior vice-president,Rexel Asia-Pacific,said through the partnership with Yantra Automation,Rexel is entering the high-growth and highly fragmented Indian market for professional distribution of automation,control systems,and services. Ajit Shah,managing director,Yantra Automation Pvt Ltd,said they would be using best practices from Rexel to benefit customers in the region.
Association of flat holders on cards
The Government has government has levied heavy taxes from builders on the construction cost,thereby,indirectly forcing the flat holders to bear the burden of inflated flat rates. Therefore,we decided to start a flat holders association,” said D S Kulkarni,CMD,DSK Group. He was speaking at the bhoomi pujan ceremony of DSK Gandhakosh in Baner. Hemanti Kulkarni,president,DSK Group was also present on the occasion. Kulkarni said inflation in the cost of steel and cement,increase in sale tax and vat and sky rocketing land rates are keeping the common man distant from affordable homes. We will bring all the flat holders together and try to put their demands in front of Government.”
