Launches portal to reach out to alumni in India & abroad.
Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU),which has chalked out some important expansion plans to mark its Golden Jubilee has also launched a separate portal for reaching out to its alumni in India and abroad.
More than 50,000 alumni of BVDU have registered so far. Alumni meets are being organized at our institutes across India and even some meets are proposed to take place in foreign countries. The knowledge and expertise of these alumni will be utilized for the benefit of our students now and in future, BVDU secretary Vishwajeet Kadam said.
Established 50 years ago with a motto of social transformation through dynamic education by its founder and Maharashtra Forest Minister Patangrao Kadam,BVDU has 32 constituent units and is among the few largest multi-disciplinary multi-campus universities in the country.
It runs 156 educational units of various kind right from pre-primary to postgraduate institutions and a university.
There are more than 78 schools and 60 institutions of higher education,including those of professional education under its umbrella.
It has campuses in New Delhi,Navi Mumbai,Pune,Solapur,Kolhapur,Sangli,Karad,Satara,and Panchgani among other places and it has enrolled more than 1,400 foreign students from 35 countries.
Elaborating on expansion plans,BVDU chancellor Shivajirao Kadam said,We are going to start a management institute on the lines of IIM on our Lavale campus soon. We are also planning a multi-specialty hospital to come up this year on our Katraj campus. A multi-specialty hospital is also scheduled to come up on our Navi Mumbai campus along with a medical college. We are also planning a technical campus at Sonepat near Delhi and a new Law college in the national capital.
