The convocation ceremony of the third batch of the BS (Manufacturing engineering) programme conducted by Bharat Forge Ltd in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS),Pilani,was held here on Saturday.
Baba Kalyani,chairman and managing director,Bharat Forge,said an emerging economy like India can grow equal to other developed countries provided we create that kind of brainpower. It has been my personal desire to inculcate education in our organisation and provide opportunities to employees for growth and higher responsibilities. Many of them have provided insightful innovative contribution in various organisational initiatives. They now have a well-defined career path and a clearer perspective, he said.
Speaking on the occasion,LK Maheshwari,Vice Chancellor,BITS Pilani,said,In todays world,knowledge is expanding at an unprecedented pace and to remain competitive,a company has to be a learning organisation. There will be a great demand for skilled people in the country and we are happy to be partnering Bharat Forge,which is taking a lead in creating this huge pool of skilled workforce.
Earlier,Malleshwari conferred the degree to 41 students from the third batch of BS. (Manufacturing engineering),2009. Gold,silver and bronze medals,along with gift vouchers,were awarded to the students who secured the first three positions. Bharat Shinde came first,followed by Jitendra Zope and Bhagwat Mane,who stood second and third respectively.
