‘Bagwe filed false affidavits for poll’

Sadanand Krishna Shetty,the Shiv Sena candidate from Pune Cantonment constituency for Assembly elections held last year,has urged the returning officer to file a complaint against Minister of State for Home and MLA Ramesh Bagwe for filing false affidavits.

Shetty has,in a letter to the returning officer on Tuesday,also demanded that Bagwe’s election should be declared void.  “I secured the second highest votes in the election and therefore,I may be declared as elected from the 214 Pune Cantonment Assembly (SIC) constituency to avoid wastage of money and machinery of the state government and election commission.”

He has sought penal action against Bagwe for filing false affidavit and incorrect declaration of assets and liabilities,which is in contravention of Section 33-A (right to information) of the Representation of People’s Act,1951.
