14-year-old Nupoor Godse’s art exhibition is a colourful mix of landscapes and caricatures
Nupoor Godse,a budding 14- year-old artist’s proud moment has arrived. The artist is holding her first solo show,Backbench Reverie. The best of her artworks have made it to the display walls of Grunshup Art Hub,Law College Road.
A student of class nine at Shamrao Kalmadi High School,Nupoor’s art work ranges from ink sketches to watercolors and from landscapes to caricatures. The paintings are a delight to the eyes with their varied shades and colours. Her watercolour paintings are all about landscapes with precise lines and perfect colour combinations. The amusing caricatures are clever interpretations of everyday life.
Ask her about her interest in art and Nupoor shares,I started painting when I was a child and I have never taken a class for sketching and painting. She has also appeared for elementary and intermediate art examinations.
A mentor or an inspiration is very important when you pursue any kind of hobby or profession. Nupoor’s mentor is her father,Vilas Godse. My father is my biggest support and inspiration. He encourages me to paint and takes a keen interest in my art.
As an artist, she likes to dabble in different mediums and loves to experiment. I enjoy sketching and drawing caricatures. Apart from painting,I also like crafts like origami. She has also attended painting workshops conducted by artist Milind Mulick.
Nupoor wants to pursue her hobby and make it her profession. She wants to follow her father’s footsteps and become a commercial artist.
(Backbench Reveries will be showcased till December 31 at Grubshup Art Hub,Law College Road)
