While referring to Baba Siddique’s murder, BJP leader and former Union minister Satyapal Singh said on Tuesday that one incident could not be used to question the law and order situation in Maharashtra or Mumbai.

“If one accident happens on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, is it right to say that it is unsafe to travel on the highway? Baba Siddique’s death is unfortunate, but the police have been successful in catching the accused… There may be various reasons behind the murder…but one incident cannot be used to say the law and order situation in Maharashtra or Mumbai is ruined,” said Satyapal Singh, a former Pune police commissioner.

At a press conference called ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pune, Singh also said Maharashtra had topped the foreign direct investment ranking for the last two years. “No one will invest money in a place where the law and order situation is bad,” he added.
