Aarti Patil,the principal of Vidyanchal School,received this years Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani Award for her outstanding contribution and individual achievements in the field of education. On August 19,she was felicitated by the Citizens Integration Peace Society,New Delhi. The society had organised a symposium on Rajivs role in promoting national integration at Shri Sathya Sai International Centre,Lodhi Estate,New Delhi,which was followed by the award ceremony. The aim of the symposium was to inspire people,especially the younger generation,to work towards strengthening the nations integrity,unity and development. Shekhar Dutt,governor of Chhattisgarh,was the chief guest. Others present included Devanand Konwar,governor of Bihar,Dr Bhishma Narain Singh,former governor of Tamil Nadu and Assam,and Randhir Singh,former governor of Sikkim. Patil said,”I am very happy to have received this award. I am working with the future generation of the nation and such a recognition gives me the confidence that I will be able to turn them into assets of the country.”
