Auto driver arrested for over charging,robbing passenger

The Shivajinagar police have arrested an autorickshaw driver for allegedly over charging a passenger and robbing him of Rs 8,000.

The Shivajinagar police have arrested an autorickshaw driver for allegedly over charging a passenger and robbing him of Rs 8,000.

According to the complaint filed by Ram Milan Pande (27) who hails from Uttar Pradesh and is working a watchman in Pune,Pande hired the autorickshaw of Arun Kerba Samindar (31),a resident of Patil estate slums in Shivajianagar,from Thergaon,where he stays,to go to the Pune railway station. As the rickshaw reached Dange chowk in Pimpri,two more persons Samindar took two more passengers.

On reaching Shivajinagar,Samindar asked Pande to pay Rs 900. When Pande refused to pay such huge amount,Samindar and the two passengers allegedly thrashed him. They snatched Rs 8,000 cash from Pande and fled.

A motorcyclist,who saw the three robbing Pande,chased them. He nabbed Samindar and handed him over to the police. The Shivajinagar police have arrested Samindar on charges of robbery.
